Safari is screwed up - backspace not working properly

Folks:

Too bad Apple is so distant from its users... I have been trying (unsucessfully) to report a problem with Safari to Apple but no luck - you just can't talk to them. Hitting the backspace key in Safari (regardless of which of my machings - iMac, Macbook Air, iPad OR networks - at home, at work, wifi) doesn't take you to the page immediately prior to the page you are on - it stays on that same page. Two or three times and you are still on the same page. This just started happening yesterday. I don't really expect anyone here to do anything but if you know someone in the rarefied hip world of Apple, you might let them know...

Thanks,

Mike

Carolyn:

Actually it IS happening to other users... Apparently there is some interaction with Google that has started Safari inserting multiple copies of a single page into its history. After spinning my wheels on this, it is now clear that it IS an Apple issue (that they probably won't address). At least I know that I am not going crazy.

Your response didn't do anything helpful however, you just tried to replicate the phenomenon on your computer and couldn't, ergo I must be at fault... I still don't have any idea about how to FIX the issue, I simply have a better idea of why it is occuring.

Thanks anyway,

Mike
